Did you drop a STFP file but it was not actually processed? There could be a few possibilities. In this article we'll outline the most common issues.
1. Field Mapping is not set up
A field mapping tells the system how to process the data into the tables and fields available in your account. Without this definition, the SFTP file cannot be processed. Please visit this article to walk through the process to set up field mappings: How do I setup default mapping for imported CSV files?
2. Upload name and file name do not match.
When setting up the field mappings, the "Upload Name" must contain wording that reflects the CSV file name that is planned to be uploaded on a regular basis. If these do not match, the system does not recognize the file and it will not be processed.
Example: Using "Table1" as the Upload Name will allow the system to recognize when your CSV file, "Table1_NewContacts_Dec2021", is uploaded and will use the mappings defined.
Tip
When setting up a field mapping, check the "Report Held and Unsubscribed" box. Enabling this will allow access to error reports in the UI, in Contacts > Import History.
