With our template account feature, creating Snippet files to be shared down to child accounts is accomplished with a few simple steps.
Template accounts & shared assets are managed by site administrators in Delivra. Only a site administrator can perform the steps outlined in this article.
Before you begin, if you have not done so already, create your snippet file. The snippet can be created in any account that you manage, or in the designated template account.
How-To
Save a new snippet to a template account
In the last step of the creation process you will determine if the snippet is saved to the current account, or the template account.
- Change the status of the snippet to complete.
This is found in the Complete step of the snippet workflow. Select the "Complete" radio button. Changing the status will open additional settings on-screen that we'll define below.
- Overwrite files that exist with same name (checkbox): This is a version control setting to push content updates to the existing file with the same name that may be saved to the current account, template account, or used in an existing template or draft campaign.
- New file name: This is the name of the file that will be seen in libraries. If you've updated an existing, completed status snippet file and you want to overwrite, keep the name the same. If you want to create a new file, use a new name. Using a new name will create a different file, keeping an original intact.
- Destination account: This determines where the file should be saved & made available to users. Options are current account or template account.
-
Destination folder: This determines if the file will be organized into a folder. Folders are not required.
- Provide a file name.
- For "Destination Account", choose "Template Account" from the drop-down.
- Click the "Save and Exit" button.
Update a snippet saved to a template account
- Navigate to Assets, then Snippets to open the snippet file. Use the drag-and-drop editor to make any changes to the design.
- In the Complete step, select the radio button "Complete" to change the snippet status.
- Mark the checkbox to "Overwrite files that exist with the same name". This will automatically populate the New File Name box and gray it out so that it cannot be edited.
- For "Destination Account", choose "Template Account" from the drop-down.
- Click the "Save and Exit" button.
Tip
Review your completed & shared snippets regularly to make sure only the most up to date version are shared to your child accounts.
