DESCRIPTION
While the default unsubscribe page cannot be edited, it is possible to redirect your recipients to another page of your choosing. This page can be a site hosted on your website, a Landing Page (Enterprise licenses), or possibly a draft template file hosted in your account (in Assets).
Linking to an outside web page
- For a footer, append the footer unsubscribe link with something like this (normal text is required, red text should be changed to your URL): &w=F&u=http://google.com
* If your account uses a custom HTML footer, contact our Support team and provide the URL that should be used as the redirect page. - To be used in the email design itself as a button, use this as the unsubscribe link (normal text is required, red text should be changed to your URL):
http://www.ne16.com/u?id=[memberidchar]&o=[outmail.messageid]&e=[emailaddr]&c=F&l=[list.name]&w=F&u=http://google.com
Once complete, please be sure to test to ensure that the redirect is behaving as expected.
Linking to a Landing Page (Enterprise)
See more about Landing Page processes here.
Linking to a draft template
If you would like to use a hosted draft template file as your unsubscribe landing page, simply design the file in Assets.
To get started, go to the Assets dashboard, click the "Create Template" button on the Email Templates page. When your design is complete, follow these steps to get the hosted URL:
- From the Email Templates page, locate your new file.
- Hover over the listed file name.
- Click the down arrow on the Edit button seen upon hovering.
- Choose "Online Version"
- A new browser window will open.
- The URL in the address bar of this new browser window is what you will use in the steps below. Copy this URL.
Please note: If you're using our online version of a template file made in the Delivra system as the redirect page, you must encode the Online Version URL before you add it to the account's unsubscribe link.
1. Go to this website: https://www.urlencoder.org/
2. Paste the Online Version link in and click "encode"
3. Copy the encoded URL for use in the footer or content file
After encoding the link (if linking to a template file), you then have to append your redirect URL to the end of the unsubscribe URL, either in your footer, campaign design, or both.
Examples follow:
- For a footer, append the footer unsubscribe link with something like this (normal text is required, red text should be changed to your URL): &w=F&u=http://google.com
* If your account uses a custom HTML footer, contact Support and provide the URL that should be used as the redirect page. - To be used in the content itself as a button, use this link (normal text is required, red text should be changed to your URL):
http://www.ne16.com/u?id=[memberidchar]&o=[outmail.messageid]&e=[emailaddr]&c=F&l=[list.name]&w=F&u=http://google.com
Once complete, please be sure to test to ensure that the redirect is behaving as expected.
