After the completion of building and testing your automation workflow, it will not be active until you schedule it. Depending on how the automation was setup to start (with an email, an event, etc.) the scheduling options vary, see below.
Note: if you attempt to schedule an automation that is not completed the software will take you to your workflow and error messages will appear on incomplete steps.
Schedule your automation
1. Kickoff is a Triggered Email
Hover over the draft automation and select 'Schedule' from the drop down that appears on the right hand side. The schedule window will allow you to schedule the kickoff triggered campaign at the same time.
a. Schedule send date - Set first time (day/time) the automation should be live and evaluate the trigger segment + trigger campaign to be sent.
b. How far back do you want to check for recipients - At the next evaluation period, adjust how far back to look at data in the system. This setting can be used to go back in time to find contacts that match and should go through the automation.
c. Send frequency - How often the trigger evaluation should check for matching contacts in the system.
d. When the trigger runs, how soon should the recipient receive the email? - After the trigger evaluate occurs (c above), determine how soon after (or before, depending on use case) the next email be sent to the contacts that matched.
2. Kickoff is a Regular Email
Hover over the draft automation and select 'Schedule' from the drop down that appears on the right hand side. The schedule window will allow you to also schedule the regular campaign at the same time.
3. Kickoff is an Automated Email
Hover over the draft automation and select 'Schedule' from the drop down that appears on the right hand side. The schedule window will allow you to only schedule the activation of the automation because Automated campaign types are not scheduled. The next time the kickoff Automated campaign is initiated, the automation will start.
4. Kickoff campaign is a SMS type (SMS platform required)
Hover over the draft automation and select 'Schedule' from the drop down that appears on the right hand side. The schedule window will allow you to also schedule the SMS campaign at the same time.
5. Kickoff is an Event automation type (Enterprise/B2B Only)
Hover over the draft automation and select 'Schedule' from the drop down that appears on the right hand side. A pop-up will display to schedule a start date and time to begin looking for that event completion.
6. Kickoff is Triggered automation type (Enterprise license)
If you are starting with Triggered, your scheduling window will include several settings:
a. Schedule send date - Set first time (day/time) the automation should be live and evaluate the clause built in the step.
b. Change previous send date - At the next evaluation period, adjust how far back to look at data in the system.
