The term "update email field" refers to a type of step that can be incorporated into your automation. The update email field step is unique as it allows you to change an email contact record based on behavior in the automation. Update Email Field will add a value to a contact’s demographics or add them to a category defined in the step.
1. Open your automation.
2. Locate and drag the "Update Email Field" step toward the left, to the desired section of your workflow.
3. Click the pencil on the step to edit.
- You can update more than one field in this step, simply click "Insert Field" again.
- If you use our SMS product, the same functionality is available to "Update SMS Field".
