If you have previously used an email service provider like Delivra, we recommend that you migrate any email subscribers that opted-out of campaigns you sent through that system. This way, you're ensuring that you don't all of a sudden start emailing people who asked to be removed for your list.
You can easily import a file to Delivra to following the steps below.
How-To
Part 1: Prepare a CSV file
Delivra only needs an email address to import contacts as unsubscribed or change contact status to unsubscribed. Your file should include an email column and a contact status column, like this:
Email address | Contact Status |
email1@domain.com | unsub |
email2@domain.com | unsub |
Save your file as a .CSV file type.
Part 2: Import CSV file to Delivra
Tip: Open images in a new browser tab for a larger view.
1. Navigate to the Contacts dashboard in your account. Click the "Import" button from the Overview page shortcut. | |
2. Drag-and-drop your .CSV into the shaded area, or use the "Browse Files" button to find the file on your desktop. 3. Click the "Next" button when complete. |
|
4. Map Data Your columns should have matched up to Delivra fields based on the column names in the file. If they didn't, use the drop-down "Map To" menu to find the email address & contact status fields. |
|
5. Define Import Rules To change status, you will need to change the Import Action. Open the "Import Action" drop-down menu & select "Use contact status in CSV file". 6. No additional settings or tags are needed, scroll down to find & click the "Import" button. |
|
7. Lookup an email address to verify that the status changed. Use the search bar in the "All Contacts" page. |
Note
You can import a .CSV to add or update other statuses too. For instance, following these same steps, you could import a file of known bad email addresses by using the contact status value held.
Email address | Contact Status |
email1@domain.com | held |
email2@domain.com | held |
