Our segment builder allows you to create clauses that evaluate zip codes stored on your contact records. To use this segmentation clause, zip code data must be populated in your account for your contacts.
Follow the steps below to create your zip code radius segment. Tip: Open the images included in this article in a new browser window for a larger view.
How-To
You will build segments in the Contacts dashboard of your account. Click "Segments" from the left-hand navigation in the Contacts dashboard, then click the "Create Email Segment" button (top-right).
Segment Type Set the segment type as Regular segment. Regular is the default type when creating a new segment in the system. |

General Information Give your segment a name. Optionally you can add a description and choose to save the segment in a folder. |

Builder Open the "Select field" drop-down menu to choose the type of segment clause. Scroll to locate the "Groups" section, then click "Geography". |

Choose the contact field Open the "Contact Zip code field" drop-down menu & choose the Zip field. If Zip data is not being stored to the standard Zip field, scroll to find the appropriate field from your account. |

Choose the clause operator Open the "Is" drop-down menu to choose the operator for the clause. Your options:

Enter radius value Enter a numeric value in the "Value" field then set the unit of measurement in miles or kilometers. |

Enter base zip code Enter a zip code in the "From Zip code" field that will be used as the base to evaluate the radius. |

Save and Test for results Click the "Save and Next" button. The segment is saved to your library and results will be seen on-screen. |
Notes
- The geography clause supports US & Canada postal codes.
