Our segment functionality allows you to use data or behavior of contacts to create groups within your account. These groups are then used as the audiences to which you send campaigns. Segment clause are essentially broken down into the following types (seen below): Actions, Score, Groups, and Contact Fields.
- Actions - create groups based on behaviors like opens, clicks, views (requires clickstream integration).
- Score - create groups based on a historical activity number, called engagement, that scores contact history for opens, clicks, forwards, views, etc.
- Groups - create groups based on if contacts are in or not in a category, if contacts are administrators in the system, etc.
- Contact Fields - create groups based on data stored in contact fields, like all contacts in a particular state.
