Can I create a segment to determine how long contacts have been in a category?

Our category segment clauses do allow the ability to determine how long contacts have been in a category. You can use this functionality to find contacts that joined recently or evaluate if contacts joined a category occurred before another date stored in your account.

See details of the clause operators below:

1. Joined category “anytime” will not evaluate how long contacts have been in the category.
2. Joined category “before” a specified date chosen from calendar to find contacts who joined anytime before that date.
3. Joined category “within” a specified number of days before current date (or another selected date field).
4. Joined category “more than” specified number of days before current date (or another selected date field)
5. Joined category “before & within” which combines evaluation of a calendar date as well as a specified number of days before current date (or another selected date field).

Note

The “Within, More Than, and Before & Within” operators allow comparison of date joined to category to date values stored in another date field in the account.
