What is a SMS keyword?

A SMS keyword is a unique term composed of letters and/or numbers (up to 8 characters) that is text to a defined short/long code to subscribe to receiving alerts, information, offers, etc. from the keyword owner. 

What is a short/long code?

Short/long codes are numbers used to identify your unique SMS program. We offer three types:

Toll Free (800 #)
A ten-digit phone number beginning with a toll-free prefix: 800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844, or 833. Example: 888-NEW-HOME

Registered Local (10DLC)
A standard 10-digit number with your business's local area code. Example: 317-555-7865

Dedicated Short Code
A 5-6 digit phone number. Designed for brand conscious senders who send/receive high volumes of text messages in a short period of time. Example: PURPLE
