How do I create a 'not equal to' segment?

You need to find all contacts that do not have a particular value stored in a data field.  Use the <>not equal to operator when creating your segment. See steps below.

How-To

1. Navigate to the Contacts dashboard and choose "Segments" from the left-hand menu. 
2. Click the "Create Regular Segment" button at the top-right of the page.
3. Give your segment a name and description.
4. Open the "Select Field" drop-down and search for the database field you want to segment on (for example, City)
5. Select "Not equal to" from the "is" drop down menu.
   
   
   
   
6. Enter the value, for instance, Carmel.
7. Click OK to insert.
