Your account contains contacts in a variety of statuses. A normal contact is an active contact who may receive mail; all other statuses are inactive. The most common statuses are:
Normal
An active contact who may receive mail from the account.
Confirm
The recipient has been requested to join this mailing list, but has not confirmed the subscription request by replying or clicking on a confirmation message URL.
Once the contact has confirmed, their status will change to normal. Note that if the confirmation message is undeliverable, the contact will be deleted.
Held
An undeliverable contact email address. The recipients server sent failure notification back to the system's server that the address is undeliverable. An email may go into held upon the first notification or may take as many as three consecutive failure notifications to become held, depending on the coding of the notification the system receives.
Unsubscribed
The contact has opted out of the list. The contact will not receive email, but is retained in the database for statistical reasons or in case the contact decides to resubscribe.
Needs-Confirm
The contact will receive a message asking them to confirm membership, and then their status will be set to Confirm. Administrators may use this status when creating members to allow them to confirm their memberships.
